Product Description

How a Venturi Works

The injector has a narrow section inside the pipe. Water flows through the mainline. When it hits the narrow section, it speeds up. When a fluid speeds up, its pressure drops. That is the venturi effect.

The low pressure creates suction on a small side inlet. You connect a tube from a fertiliser tank to that inlet. The suction pulls liquid fertiliser into the water stream. The fertiliser mixes with the water and flows downstream to your drip lines.

No electricity. No pump. No moving parts. Just water pressure doing the work.

Where to Use a Venturi Injector

You use a venturi for fertigation. That is applying fertiliser through the irrigation system. Drip systems are perfect for this. The fertiliser goes right to the plant roots.

Venturis work well in greenhouses, open fields, and orchards. They are ideal for small and medium farms. You can inject liquid fertilisers, acids for cleaning, or chlorine for treating the water.

Install the injector after the pump and after your filter. You want clean water going through the venturi. Debris can clog the narrow section.

Installation Guide

The venturi body has an arrow. That arrow must point in the direction of water flow. Install it in the mainline.

Connect a suction tube to the side inlet. The other end of the tube goes into your fertiliser tank. The tank should be at ground level. It can be lower than the venturi, but not higher. If the tank is higher, gravity may push fertiliser into the line even when the system is off.

Install a valve on the suction tube. This valve lets you control the injection rate. Open it more for faster injection. Close it part way for slower injection.

Operation Tips

Start with the suction valve fully open. Let the venturi run for a few minutes. Check the colour of the water at the end of the drip line. If the colour is too strong, close the valve a little. If it is too weak, open it more.

Run the fertigation for a set time. For example, one hour. Then close the suction valve. Let clean water run for another 30 minutes to flush the system. This prevents fertiliser residue from building up in the drippers.

Maintenance

The venturi has no moving parts, so there is little to break. However, the narrow section can get blocked by debris. Install a filter before the venturi to prevent this.

If the suction stops working, check the filter. Also check that the suction tube is not kinked. Make sure the fertiliser tank has enough liquid. The tank should not be empty.

Sizes Available

We have venturi injectors in 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, and 63mm. Choose the size that matches your mainline pipe. A larger venturi handles more flow. A smaller one creates stronger suction.
