Product Description
What It Is
This is a small PVC fitting that changes both size and thread type in one piece. One end has a male BSP thread. The other end has a female BSP thread. The male end is larger. The female end is smaller.
The size is 32mm by 25mm. The male end is 32mm. The female end is 25mm.
When You Need It
You have a 32mm female threaded valve. You want to connect it to a 25mm male threaded pipe. A standard nipple would not work because the threads are the same size. This reducer does the job.
You might also use it to connect a larger filter to a smaller pipe. Or to step down from a large pump outlet to a smaller mainline.
The fitting works for potable water. It is WRAS approved. You can use it for drinking water lines as well as irrigation.
Installation
Wrap PTFE tape around the 32mm male threads. Use about 7 turns. Screw that end into your 32mm female fitting. Hand tighten plus a quarter turn with a wrench.
Now wrap PTFE tape around the male threads of your 25mm pipe. Use about 5 turns. Screw that pipe into the 25mm female end of the reducer.
Do not over tighten. PVC threads can crack if you use too much force. If it leaks, add more tape. Do not keep turning the wrench.
Temperature and Chemical Resistance
This fitting works from +5°C to +70°C. That covers most irrigation conditions in Kenya. The PVC material resists fertilisers and chemicals. It will not corrode or rust.
The internal bore is smooth. Water flows through without extra friction loss.
