The HDPE Female Threaded Tee is a versatile three-way fitting designed for Kenyan farmers who need to add control points or accessories to their water supply lines. While a standard tee connects three pipes of the same type, this version allows you to branch off from your main HDPE line to connect any male-threaded component.
Whether you are adding a ball valve to control a specific sector or installing a sprinkler head on a riser, this tee provides a reliable connection point. Because it is a mechanical compression fitting, it is fully demountable and reusable, making it easy to reconfigure your irrigation layout as your farm grows.
Professional Build for High-Pressure Reliability
These fittings are manufactured from high-grade Polypropylene Block Copolymer (PP-B), which provides the rigidity needed to maintain the shape of the female threads under pressure. Unlike the flexible pipe, the fitting body must remain stiff to ensure the internal seal stays watertight.
The internal design features a Polyacetal (POM) split ring with teeth that automatically grip the pipe as the nut is tightened. A fitting wrench is required to deliver the torque needed to compress the internal NBR rubber O-ring against the pipe surface, creating a high-pressure seal.

Compatibility and Performance
It is important to note that the pressure rating for these fittings changes based on size to ensure safe operation. Variants from 20mm to 63mm are rated at PN16, while larger sizes from 75mm to 110mm are rated at PN10.
The female threads are typically BSPP (Parallel), which are designed to mate with threaded valves and taps used throughout Kenya. The material is highly UV-stabilized, offering a lifespan of 10 years or more even when exposed to direct sunlight, though burial is still a valid option for long-term protection.
Professional Installation Tips
To achieve a professional seal, proper preparation is required. Use a pipe cutter for a square edge, and always chamfer the pipe end to prevent it from nicking the O-ring during insertion.
For the female threaded branch, use only 4 to 6 wraps of PTFE (Teflon) tape. Over-stuffing the threads with too much tape creates excessive stress that can act as a wedge and crack the Polypropylene body. While smaller sizes can be hand-tightened for assembly, always use a fitting wrench for the final snugging to ensure the O-ring is fully compressed.
