What It Does
A union joins two sections of pipe in a straight line, like a coupling, but with one important difference. A union can be unscrewed and separated at any time without cutting the pipe.
The threaded collar holds the two halves together under pressure but releases with a few turns of the hand. This makes it the right fitting for any part of a system that may need to be serviced, replaced, or disconnected seasonally.
Where Farmers Use It
Unions are commonly installed on either side of pumps, filters, flow meters, and valves; anywhere a component may need to be removed for maintenance or repair without dismantling the whole pipework run.
On larger irrigation systems, a union at each major component means one person can service the system without extra tools or cutting equipment.

Installation Notes
This is a threaded union. Thread each pipe end into the respective union body using PTFE tape for a watertight seal, then bring the two halves together and tighten the threaded collar by hand.
Do not use PTFE tape on the union collar itself. That thread is for mechanical grip only, not for sealing. When disconnecting, unscrew the collar and pull the two halves apart.
Compatibility
Suitable for potable water use. Manufactured to BS3505 and EN1452-2 standards. Resistant to most agricultural chemicals and fertilizers. Not recommended for use above 70°C.
