A Valve You Can Service Without Cutting
The single female union ball valve gives you the best of both worlds: a permanent glue connection on one side and a removable valve body on the other. The union nut lets you unscrew the valve center for cleaning or replacement while leaving the pipe ends intact.
This is especially useful in pump houses, manifolds, or any location where a valve might need attention without disrupting the whole system.
Typical Placement in an Irrigation System
Farmers often use this valve as a zone control where the inlet side is glued directly to a PVC pipe, and the threaded outlet connects to a sprinkler riser, filter, or downstream component.
The single union design also makes it easier to align the valve handle properly during installation. You can tighten the threaded side, then adjust the union side without twisting the pipe.

Installation
Glue the socket end to the PVC pipe using PVC cement (high‑bodied for larger sizes, medium‑bodied for smaller).
For the female threaded side, wrap PTFE tape around the male thread of the component you are connecting, then thread it hand-tight plus one turn.
The union nut can be tightened by hand; no tools needed. Operate the valve fully open or fully closed for the longest life.
