Product Description
What It Does
PVC solvent cement bonds PVC pipe to fittings by chemically softening both surfaces so they fuse together on contact. Once cured, the joint is as strong as the pipe itself.
The medium bodied grade has a moderate viscosity that works well with standard-tolerance fittings and pipes up to 6" (160mm) in diameter, where the gap between pipe and socket is tight.
For larger pipe sizes, the High Bodied PVC Glue (ERA I-5023) is the better choice.
Where It Is Used
This cement is widely used in drip irrigation, sprinkler systems, and general water distribution pipework for bonding PVC pipe to elbows, tees, couplings, unions, and other slip-end fittings.
It is also suitable for bonding PVC to metal and other non-metallic materials in cross-bonding applications.
Available Sizes
- 237ml
- 473ml
- 946ml
How to Use It
- Clean both surfaces before applying. Remove dust, oil, and moisture from the pipe end and the fitting socket.
- Apply cement to both surfaces using the applicator brush.
- Push the pipe into the fitting with a slight twisting motion and hold for a few seconds. The cement sets quickly, so work without delay once it is applied.
Leave the joint undisturbed for at least 15 minutes before handling, and allow a full cure before running the system under pressure. Keep the lid sealed tightly when not in use. Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and heat sources.
