Product Description
What It Does
A four-way cross fitting connects four pipes at right angles to each other in a single junction: two running straight through, and two branching off at 90 degrees.
All four ports are glue-type sockets, bonded permanently to the pipe using PVC solvent cement. It is the fitting used when water needs to be distributed in four directions from a single point.
Where Farmers Use It
Cross fittings appear in irrigation distribution grids where a mainline needs to feed lateral lines running in multiple directions across a field. Rather than chaining together multiple tees, a single cross fitting handles a four-way junction cleanly.
They are also used in water storage and transfer pipework where a manifold distributes supply to several zones at once.

Installation Notes
All four pipes connected to the cross must be the same diameter as the fitting.
- Cut each pipe end square and remove burrs.
- Apply PVC solvent cement to both the pipe end and the inside of each socket.
- Push the pipe in with a slight twist, and hold for a few seconds. Work one port at a time and allow each joint to set briefly before moving to the next.
- Leave all joints undisturbed for at least 15 minutes before running the system under pressure.
