Product Description
What It Does
A 45-degree elbow changes the direction of a pipe run at a shallower angle than a standard 90-degree elbow. Where a 90-degree turn creates a sharp right angle, a 45-degree elbow makes a gentler diagonal turn.
This matters on longer runs where a softer angle causes less pressure loss and puts less strain on the joint. Both ends are plain sockets, joined permanently to the pipe using PVC solvent cement.
Where Farmers Use It
On farm irrigation systems, 45-degree elbows turn up wherever a mainline or lateral needs to change direction gradually: routing pipe around a building corner, angling a line down a slope, or feeding into a valve or filter at an angle.
They are also used in pairs to create an offset, shifting a pipe run sideways before continuing in the original direction.

Installation Notes
- Cut the pipe square and remove any burrs before fitting. Both the pipe end and the fitting socket must be the same diameter.
- Apply PVC primer or cleaner first if recommended for your pipe grade, then apply solvent cement to both surfaces.
- Push the pipe into the socket with a slight twist and hold for a few seconds.
- Leave the joint undisturbed for at least 15 minutes.
Pipe on both sides must be the same diameter as the fitting. This elbow does not reduce between sizes.
