Product Description

What It Does

A PE tee splits water from one pipe into two directions. Think of it as a T-shaped junction. The two ports in line let water pass straight through. The side port sends water off at a 90 degree angle.

You push 16mm PE tubing onto all three barbs. No glue, no clamps, no tools. The barbs hold the tubing firmly.

Where a Farmer Would Use It

You are running a mainline along the edge of your field. You need to send water to each crop row. Install a tee at the start of every row. The mainline continues straight. The side port feeds the lateral down the row.

In a greenhouse, you might run one line down the centre of a bench. Use tees to branch off to pots on both sides. The same fitting works for sprinkler systems, not just drip.

If a pipe gets cut, you can insert a tee instead of a straight coupler. Then you add a new branch to water extra plants. Tees are also useful for creating loops in a layout. A loop helps keep pressure even at the far end.

How to Install

Cut the tubing ends square. Use a sharp knife or PVC cutter. A crooked cut can cause leaks.

If the tubing feels stiff, warm it up. Leave it in the sun for 10 minutes. Or dip the ends in hot water for a few seconds. Soft tubing is much easier to push onto the barbs.

Push one tube onto a barb until it covers all the ridges. You will feel it stop. That is about 15mm of tubing over the barb. Repeat for the other two ports.

To remove a tube, twist it while pulling. Do not yank. The barbs release with a gentle twist.

Pressure and Durability

The tee is made of HDPE, which is high density polyethylene. This material stands up to UV rays, fertilisers, and chemicals. It will not rust or corrode.

The fitting handles typical drip pressures up to 3 bar. That is about 45 PSI. If your system runs at higher pressure, add a small stainless steel clamp over each barb. The clamp stops the tubing from blowing off.

Final Tip

Always flush your lines before attaching the tee. Small debris can get stuck in the branch. That debris might block the lateral later on.
