Product Description
Right-Angle Terminal Connections
The Male Elbow Coupling is a vital component for finishing an irrigation line where space is limited or where you need to turn a corner into hardware. While a standard elbow connects two pipes, this version transitions directly to a male thread.
This is the preferred fitting for connecting an HDPE mainline to the female-threaded discharge port of a water pump or mounting a ball valve at a 90-degree angle. Because it is a mechanical compression fitting, you can easily relocate the fitting if your farm layout changes.
Impact Resistance for Kenyan Soils
On a working farm, fittings are often subjected to physical stress and accidental impacts. These elbows are manufactured from Polypropylene Block Copolymer (PP-B), a material selected for high shock absorption.
Unlike brittle plastics, PP-B resists cracking when dropped on rocky soil or subjected to pressure surges. Note that PP-B is softer than metal; always align the elbow carefully with the female port before tightening to avoid cross-threading the plastic threads.
Thread Mating and Sealing Standards
The threaded side features BSPT (Tapered) threads. In many setups, you will mate this to the BSPP (Parallel) female port, which is common on water pumps. Because the thread geometries differ, they do not mate perfectly along the full length.
Therefore, watertightness depends entirely on high-quality PTFE (Teflon) tape to fill the gaps. We recommend 4 to 6 wraps of tape to ensure a 100% leak-proof joint. Avoid overwrapping, as excessive tape can create radial stress that can crack the female port you are screwing into.
Available Sizes & Pricing

Professional Installation Tips
To protect internal seals, use a pipe cutter for a square edge and chamfer (deburr) the pipe end. This ensures the HDPE pipe does not nick or displace the NBR O-ring during insertion. Ensure the pipe is pushed past the O-ring until it hits the internal "stop."
While you can hand-tighten smaller sizes, a fitting wrench is mandatory for sizes 40mm and above to achieve the torque required for a professional 16-bar (PN16) seal.
