Product Description

A dam liner stops water from soaking into the ground. You dig a hole. You lay the liner inside. You fill the hole with water. The liner holds the water. No seepage, no loss.

Without a liner, water seeps away. You lose half your water or more. With a liner, you keep almost all of it.

Where to Use It

Farm dams. If your soil is sandy or porous, a liner is essential. It turns a leaky hole into a reliable water source.

Irrigation reservoirs. Store water from a borehole or a river. Use it for drip or sprinkler irrigation during dry spells.

Fish ponds. Lined ponds hold water consistently. Fish stay healthy.

Fire fighting water storage. Keep a reservoir of water on your farm. The liner keeps it there until you need it.

Choosing Thickness

Thicker liners are stronger but cost more.

0.5mm is for light duty. Small ponds, temporary storage, or low traffic areas. It is easier to handle and install.

0.75mm is for general farm use. Most farm dams and irrigation reservoirs. It resists punctures from rocks and roots better.

1mm is for heavy duty. Large dams, rocky ground, high traffic areas. It lasts longer and handles more abuse.

If your soil has sharp rocks, remove them first. Or add a layer of sand or geotextile under the liner.

Installation

Dig your dam or reservoir. Remove all rocks, roots, and debris. The surface should be smooth.

Lay the liner over the hole. Let it sag into the shape. Do not stretch it tight.

Anchor the edges. Dig a trench around the perimeter. Bury the edge of the liner in the trench. Backfill with soil.

Fill the dam slowly. The weight of the water will push the liner into the shape of the hole.

For large dams, you may need to seam multiple sheets together. That requires a heat welder or adhesive. Ask us about installation services.

Durability

HDPE resists UV. It can stay in the sun for years without cracking. It also resists chemicals and fertilisers.

Black colour blocks sunlight. That prevents algae growth inside the dam. The water stays cleaner.

The liner is flexible. It can stretch slightly without tearing. But sharp objects will puncture it. Keep livestock off the liner. Do not drag tools across it.
