How Sidewall Ventilation Works
Greenhouses need airflow to control temperature and humidity. A rollup system uses a pipe along the sidewall, a crank winch, and clips that attach the film to the pipe. When you turn the winch, the pipe rotates and rolls the film up or down. The rollup clip is the piece that connects the film to the pipe.
Where to Use It
Install a 32mm metal or PVC pipe horizontally along the greenhouse sidewall. Snap a clip every 60 cm (about 2 feet) onto the pipe, trapping the film or shade cloth between the clip and the pipe.
Attach a crank winch to one end of the pipe. Turning the winch rolls the film around the pipe, opening the sidewall for ventilation. Reverse the crank to lower the film.
Installation Tips
Make sure the pipe is straight and securely mounted. Space clips evenly to prevent the film from sagging or tearing. The clips are reusable; you can snap them off when changing the film. Store unused clips indoors to keep them clean.
