Product Description
What the Cover Does
A greenhouse polythene cover separates the inside environment from the outside while letting in the right amount of light. It protects crops from harsh weather, insects, and birds. The 200‑micron film is thick enough to withstand wind and small impacts but still flexible for installation.
Choosing the Right Variant
-
Yellow (UV Block) – Blocks UV light. Useful in certain growing conditions where UV reduction is beneficial, such as for some vegetable and flower crops.
-
Nectarine / Clear (UV Open) – Allows UV light to pass through. This can improve fruit colour, flavour, and plant resistance in crops like tomatoes and peppers.
Both films include UV stabilisers to prevent the plastic from breaking down under the sun. With proper care, the cover can last three to five years.
Installation and Maintenance
Lay the polythene over the greenhouse frame on a calm day to avoid wind damage.
Pull it taut and secure it with wiggle wire or batten strips. Avoid sharp edges on the frame; use padding if needed.
Clean the cover occasionally with a soft cloth and mild soap; do not use abrasive tools. Small tears can be repaired with polythene tape.
