Fixing Tears Before They Worsen
A small tear in greenhouse polythene can quickly become a large rip when wind catches it. Greenhouse adhesive tape is designed to patch these tears from either side of the film.
The tape is UV resistant, so it does not break down in sunlight like ordinary packing tape. A proper repair can extend the life of a greenhouse cover by months.
How to Apply
Clean the area around the tear with a dry cloth. Cut a piece of tape slightly larger than the tear. Remove the backing and press the tape firmly over the tear, smoothing out any bubbles.
For best results, apply tape to both the inside and outside of the film. The repair is permanent; the tape will not peel off under normal greenhouse conditions.
Other Uses
The same tape can patch shade cloth, repair plastic water tanks temporarily, or seal seams in irrigation pond liners. Keep a roll in your farm toolkit for emergency fixes.
