Product Description

What It Does

A drip ring take off is a start connector. It supplies water from a sub‑main pipe (usually PE or PVC) to a drip tape or a thin wall flat inline drip line.

The fitting has two ends. One end pushes into a hole in the sub‑main pipe. The other end accepts the drip tape. The pull ring on the connector lets you remove it easily when you need to reconfigure the system.

Pull Ring Feature

Unlike a standard start connector, this one has a ring on the body. To disconnect the drip tape, you pull the ring. The barbs release their grip on the tape. No twisting, no cutting, no tools.

This is useful for temporary layouts or seasonal systems where you roll up the drip tape after harvest.

How to Install

Punch a hole in the sub‑main pipe using a hand drill punch. The hole should match the connector size; 16mm.

Push the barbed end of the take off into the hole until the flange sits flush against the pipe. Then push the drip tape or thin wall inline onto the other barbed end. Push it until it covers all barbs; about 15 to 20mm. No glue, no clamps.

How to Remove

To disconnect the drip tape, hold the connector body with one hand. Pull the ring away from the tape. The barbs retract or release their grip. The tape slides off. The connector stays in the sub‑main pipe. You can later push new tape onto the same connector.

Where to Use

  • Seasonal drip systems where tape is removed after each crop cycle.
  • Temporary irrigation layouts on rented land.
  • Greenhouses where you change crop spacing between seasons.
  • Any situation where you need to disconnect drip lines without cutting.

Pressure and Leak Prevention

The pull ring connector seals by compression. At typical drip pressures up to 2.5 bar (about 35 PSI), the connection holds. If the drip tape feels loose, the barb may not be fully seated. Push the tape on further.

If the connector leaks at the sub‑main hole, the hole may be too large. Use a rubber grommet for a tighter seal.

Material

Made of UV resistant plastic. Suitable for outdoor use and direct sunlight. The pull ring mechanism contains no metal parts that can rust.
