Closing Off a Drip Line
At the far end of every drip irrigation lateral, you need a cap. This 16mm end cap pushes onto the tubing and stops water from exiting.
It also works for capping unused outlets on manifolds or temporarily closing a line while you extend it later.
Installation Tips
Soften the tubing in the sun or with a hair dryer before pushing the cap on. Push firmly until the cap bottoms out.
If the cap feels loose, wrap PTFE tape around the tubing before fitting. The cap is designed for drip irrigation pressures, not high pressure mains.
Material and Durability
The cap is made from ABS, not PVC. ABS is UV resistant and tough. It will not crack easily under sunlight.
Leak Prevention
If you notice a leak at the cap, the tubing may be out of round or the cap may not be fully seated. Remove, check the tubing end, and reinstall. A little PTFE tape usually fixes any remaining drip.
